Build on Sarva

Two ways to build. Zero gatekeeping.

Miniapps are plain web tech. Publish yours to the hub for every Sarva user — or keep it private on your own devices, no approval needed.

For developers

Ship to the hub

Write your app in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — or bring your framework. The sarva.* SDK gives you chat, storage, notifications, and more. Publish a .mapp package and your app is one install away for every user.

  • Manifest + .mapp zip — that's the whole package format
  • Slash commands and interactive chat cards included
  • Granular permissions users can inspect before installing

Private apps, your rules

Want a feature Sarva doesn't have? Build it and install it on your own devices — instantly, privately, with no review and no hub listing. Share it with specific people by sending them a card, or keep it just for you.

  • Installs instantly — no approval, no waiting
  • Lives only on your devices and the people you share it with
  • Same SDK as hub apps — upgrade to published anytime

The flow

From idea to installed

1

Write it

Plain web tech — or your favorite framework. The SDK exposes sarva.* APIs for chat, storage, and platform features.

2

Package it

Ship a manifest plus a .mapp zip. Declare permissions in the manifest — users see them before installing.

3

Ship it

Install privately on your devices, share via a chat card, or publish to the hub for everyone.

Under the hood

A real platform, not a webview

Sandboxed runtime

Apps render in an isolated iframe with a strict CSP — they can only reach the host through the sarva.* bridge, never the page.

Permission-gated APIs

verb.resource:scope permissions declared in the manifest. No grant, no API — and users can revoke anytime.

Command sandbox

Slash commands run in a QuickJS sandbox bridged to the host — fast, isolated, and safe even for third-party code.

Invite-only audiences

Mark an app audience: "invite" and only people you share it with can install — group tools without a public listing.
